A Bittersweet Farewell
Seeking safe, loving homes for a family of cats. This story begins with love .... the quiet, everyday kind between a woman and her cats. Over the years, her home became a safe haven for them. Some were strays who wandered in; some were born under her care. She did her best to feed them, keep them safe, and offer them affection.
But, as her health has declined, so has her ability to manage their growing numbers. What was once a small family has now grown too large for her to care for. She's heartbroken but she knows it's time to ask for help.
Hilltop Haven, Inc. rescue came to her aid but is seeking assistance both with donations and volunteers and help to find them safe, forever homes.
Some of these cats are friendly and are comfortable around people. They would do well in calm, loving homes.
Others are more independent ... feral or semi-feral ... and may never become lap cats. But they still deserve safety, kindness, and a place to live out their lives in peace.
Hilltop Haven has spayed, neutered and vaccinated 13 of these cats at this point and have 3 mamas with babies who are also going to need to be fixed in the future. There are two more mamas we are trying to save with babies.
Hilltop Haven is seeking help in the form of donations, supplies (blankets, towels, diapers, paper towels, paper plates, etc.), litter, litter boxes, food and water bowls, kitten food, both wet and dry, KMR, kitten toys, as well as volunteers to transport and help care for the cats; post their adoption pictures on Facebook and the web page; and assistance with the entire adoption process.
Hilltop Haven, Inc. is hoping to find adopters, fosters or sanctuaries who can offer any of the following:
-- A forever home for a friendly, social cat
-- A patient foster home for a shy or semi-social cat to help socialize the cat
The woman who has loved these cats for so long is devastated to part with them but she will be at peace knowing they are going to safe places -- to people who care.
